At rest

We recently put my late neighbor, Air Force veteran Doug Ford, to rest in the Sacramento Valley Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Was a somber day. We later visited with people at his house and celebrated his life

A loss

Sadly, on Valentine's day, I lost my neighbor, here in Dixon, CA of 30+ years Doug Ford due to Cancer. He was 85. I didn't agree with him, politically, but he was certainly a nice man who watched me grow up from 1986 (when I moved to Dixon) onward. He was like a 2nd grandpa to me (my grandpa passed in 2004). Being a retired war vet aviator that he was, he had quite the vast collection of RC planes in his backyard

I imagine they'll go to good homes in the foreseeable future to some good RC plane enthusiasts. Doug is survived by his 3 children, from left to right, Lisa, James, and Andrea

This is Spartan 117
Forgot to share this last year. In March of 2016, I got to meet the man himself, the voice of one of my favorite video game characters (Master Chief), Steve Downes.
I also photographed him.

He absolutely loved this photo, writing back to me on twitter: "Thanks Nicolas. Even my wife likes it! U do good work under less than ideal conditions!"
That absolutely rocked my world!
Definitely a highlight of my career!

An audience with Dr. Alveda King

Was great to go to the Jelly Belly Factory and talk with the niece of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, the honorable Dr. Alveda King. Absolutely fantastic event

Back to the City

I was in San Francisco with my buddy, Alex "DJ A-One" Raymundo, yesterday and I filmed some musicians around Fisherman's Wharf.
San Francisco is never the same twice, each time I go. I also had a bread bowl of clam chowder for the first time, EVER, in my life. LOVED it!
This is what my alex & I also saw

2nd wedding I've photographed - part 1

The 2nd wedding I've photographed (1st was a wedding in Napa in 2012) involved doing some shots of an old friend of mine - Mick Simpson, a theater actor and former Blockbuster video store manager when I was in high school. Congrats to him and I was absolutely honored to do some phots for him. I'll have some wedding photos up later. Here are the photos I did of them that date as they quietly took their vows a day before the wedding and after party

A-One
The other day, I photographed one of my buddies, Alex Raymundo, a.k.a. DJ A-One, one of the hottest DJs in Sacramento, California
Swing over to his instagram page too. We were also messing around with a funny idea after watching those Dos Equis ads. This is what I came up with
(Listen to this while reading)
He woos women, just by looking at them
He can spin tracks, in his sleep
His beats make people dance, on the other side of the country
Party goers buy HIM drinks
His cup runeth over, but never spills
he is..the most interesting DJ in the world
We both laughed hysterically! Lot of fun
